Singing Circle – Healing through Music

An evening in which we experience the healing power of music together!

We, Irene Sportel and Kevin Bromberg, are happy to welcome you to this October Singing Circle!

We gather in a circle, drop ourselves into our hearts and from there our journey begins. A journey to remember and celebrate the beauty of life!

Together with Kevin Bromberg on percussion, I will guide you through a – down to earth & from the heart – experience of singing mantra’s and songs together. Through meditations and singing mantra’s and songs we remember our true nature – which is pure love and freedom – and that we are all interconnected and gifted with the power of our own voices.

Using instruments from all over the world – like tabla, handpan, Udu, framedrum, guitar, and more – we explore different rhythms and sounds and sing from the heart. After singing, there is room to feel the silence.

What are mantra’s?

Mantra’s are simply words that are repeated. Most of the mantra’s we sing during the Singing Circle are used for thousands of years already, come from India and Tibet, and have a great healing potential. The meaning of the words – to me- is not the most important thing. Instead of intellectually understanding the words, we encourage you to féél the vibration, the words and music instead. Feel what it does for you, your experience is the only thing that counts. And allow yourself to be surprised 🙂

For who is this event?

This event is for everyone. You don’t need to be a singer – at all. 🙂 In fact, even if you prefer to sit quietly and enjoy the sounds you hear, you are as much welcome as everyone else! And maybe good to point out: this evening is not a religious practice – you don’t need to believe in anything. Just come as yourself, be you and feel welcome exactly as you are.

Current Measures
We are very happy for the Mirror Centre to host us, and respect the measures the put in place.

Due to these measures we ask you to bring:
– your own cushion to sit on
OR
– bring a scarf or blanket to cover a cushion you borrow from the Mirror Centre

About Kevin Bromberg

Kevin is a percussionist inspired by world music with roots that come from flamenco He investigates other cultures in order to find his most personal form of expression.

He started in music from a very young age. Starting to play the drums balancing between being self-taught and finding teachers to guide him on the path of music.

His vision about music is towards therapy, music is a journey of introspection and healing, where you can connect with all kinds of people and communicate in a pure and clear way. Within his instrumentation set you can find udus, djembes, indus tablas, tank drums and even didgeridoo.

I met Kevin in 2019 while he was attending a Yin Yoga class I was teaching in Amsterdam. We felt an immediate connection and started playing music together in December 2019. When we play, we play from our hearts, surfing on the waves of the music we feel. And we are enthusiastic to share this music with you!
